The fabric is from a Maison de Couture in Italy deadstock.
Deadstock means that it comes from “leftover/overstock” surplus fabric.
It is a more sustainable option than virgin materials.
It means that this fabric is left over or over-ordered by other designers or manufacturers. This allows me to reuse and divert these materials from landfill and breathe new life into them.
We eliminate the need for farming and harvesting, which reduces the energy and water consumption of making fiber from cellulose.
